2.5 months down the parenthood road...
Well...Ale's 2.5 months now and she's chugging along, growing blissfully, tanking up on Jeanette's house-special premium grade milkaccinos. We're holding out another month before starting part-time daycare, so it's schedule juggling for us. I go into lab ~6:30 in the morning and come home between noon and 1pm for the hand-off. I naively thought I would get work done in the afternoons on my laptop, but Ale quickly informed me she was no longer a newborn and did not sleep all the time. So....we play on the "stimulation rug", dance to Philadelphia Chickens, and go for walks outside in the courtyard. Today we took a jaunt to REI, so she could get her big daddy some sunglasses. She likes the Baby Bjorn- facing out- absorbing her environment, eyes widely and intently examining her brave new world...

Ale joins the Peace Corps...
Ale is sworn in... When I was in Ghana, the PC nurse in Accra had a sign on her desk that read "Happiness in Africa is a dry fart and a solid turd." Ale's version of that would undoubtedly be "Happiness is a dry diaper and a full boob..."
This week also saw Alejandra's first cold, replete with congestion, coughing, and sneezing- she's handled it with aplomb and grace, giving out only an occasional whimper when the breathing gets tough...Someday she and her cousin, Fiona, will have fun conversation regarding the contents of nostrils...
